The Christian Opinion Panel: Giving survey
The Christian Opinion Panel was established in 2015 and conducted the largest consumer survey of UK Christians. We discovered that 87% of UK Christians felt it was ‘important to them’ to give to Charity. The Christian Opinion Panel: Giving survey is our latest survey of UK Christians and asked 43 in-depth questions of over 500 UK Christians specifically about their giving behaviour.

Why was there a need for this survey?
No facts and figures about UK Christian giving had been recorded before we launched the UK Christian Opinion Panel in 2015. This survey revealed that 87% of participants felt it was important to give to Charity. The Christian Opinion Panel: Giving survey delves further into the attitudes to giving of UK Christians, providing unprecedented insight and data on all aspects of the giving experience.

What’s Included in the Survey
Questions covered: the individuals’ attitude to giving, the amount they give to charity, the frequency by which they give, the type of charitable causes they support, how engaged they feel with the charities they support, how much they give and how important it is to them to give. The report also has a large section devoted to church giving, covering: amount given, whether they tithe their wages to their church, how frequently they give to their church and how important it is to them to give to their church.
